Nectaria Chakas Alamo- Secretary

Nectaria M. Chakas received her law degree from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad Law Center (J.D. 1999). She earned a Masters of Law in Real Property Development from the University Of Miami School Of Law (LL.M., 2002). Mrs. Chakas became involved with the UPF in 2009. She is a member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee serving as the Secretary to the organization. Ms. Chakas focuses her practice in the area of land use and zoning law. She assists clients through all stages of the development approval process, including representation before various governmental agencies, boards, commissions and community associations. Ms. Chakas has handled a variety of development approvals including Developments of Regional Impact, amendments to land use and zoning classifications, platting, variances, site plans and environmental permitting.

Jarrod Baer – Board Member

Jarrod Baer is the Sales Executive for NextGear Capital in the South Florida market. NextGear Capital is an industry leader in the inventory financing sector for independent auto dealerships built on the solid foundations of customer focus, technology and service. Prior to coming on board with NextGear Capital, Jarrod was General Manager for Consumer Source Inc. in the South Florida market. Jarrod currently resides in Parkland, FL with his wife Marin. Jarrod enjoys golfing, fishing, and spending time with his family in his free time. He is the Operations lead for A Prom to Remember Fort Lauderdale and has served on the Board of Directors since 2011.

Jeff Bloom- Board Member

A graduate of Tufts University, as well as Northeastern University for his Master’s degree, Jeff currently works as Controller at PGA America in Palm Beach Gardens. He has three wonderful kids and now that they are out of the house, has decided to become a major contributor to our organization. Jeff joined the Board in 2016 and helps the charity with fundraising and corporate partnerships.

Travis Burton- Vice President

Travis Burton is currently working with Bulletline in Miami, Florida. Prior to coming on board with Bulletline, Travis was an IT Director at Cross Country Home Services and Spherion and a management consultant for Accenture and Steven Douglas Associates. Over the past 17 years, Travis has specialized in providing project management expertise to mergers and acquisitions integrations, enterprise application implementations and other transformational projects. As a Project Management Professional (PMP), Travis has implemented program management offices, developed project management competencies within organizations and delivered major capital projects for employers and clients. Travis currently serves as the Vice-President of the Unforgettable Prom Foundation’s Board of Directors. He has held that role since 2012 and has been involved in the Prom since 2011.

Patrick Daoud- Board Member

Has been involved with the charity for many years, and amongst other things sponsors the Prom’s “King and Queen” Presentation. Patrick joined the Board in 2015. He is a lifelong South Florida resident and owner of Daoud’s Fine Jewelry – South Florida’s only member of the prestigious Jeweler’s of America 100.

Kimberly Knausz- Board Member

Kimberly Knausz joined the Board for A Prom to Remember in 2013 after volunteering with the organization since it was founded. Kim is the VIP and celebrity lead for both the Fort Lauderdale and Cleveland Proms. Currently an Estate Agent with One Sotheby’s International Realty, Kim has been a licensed Realtor in the South Florida market since 2005 and a resident of the area since 2003. Kim earned a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Marketing from John Carroll University in Cleveland, OH. Since then, she has gained experience in the fields of sales, marketing and operations.

Jason Ksobiech- Board Member

Jason Ksobiech currently serves as the Marketing Chair for The Unforgettable Prom Foundation. He is also currently Director of Marketing for Cross Country Home Services (CCHS), a nationwide home services organization. Prior to joining CCHS, Mr. Ksobiech has worked in the pharmaceutical, travel and list brokerage industries. A native of Memphis, TN, Mr. Ksobiech graduated from Louisiana State University after obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music and a Master of Science degree with a concentration in Marketing.

Erin O’Brien- Treasurer

Erin O’Brien serves as Treasurer and on Board of Directors for the Unforgettable Prom Foundation. She is a certified public accountant (CPA) with public and private sector experience in the accounting and tax fields. Ms. O’Brien graduated from Florida State University after obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and a Master of Accounting degree with a concentration in Taxation. A native of South Florida, Ms. O’Brien has volunteered with many Broward County nonprofits, serving as volunteer, audit committee member, Treasurer, and on the Board. She joined the Board of Directors of a Prom to Remember in December 2011.

Brandon Opre- President

Brandon grew up in Florence, New Jersey, just outside of Philadelphia, and obtained a bachelor’s degree from Penn State University with a major in Finance and a minor in Economics. He also obtained his MBA from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton. Brandon has been in the financial services business since 1995 and worked at Prudential, Charles Schwab, and Morgan Stanley before becoming an independent financial advisor and franchise owner with Ameriprise Financial. Brandon became a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM practitioner in 2001, and uses his certifications to help individuals manage their investments and plan for retirement. He has previously volunteered with organizations such as Big Brothers Big Sisters, Taking Stock in Children, and the American Association of Individual Investors (AAII). He currently is involved with the Share-A-Pet (pet therapy for nursing homes) and Penn State Alumni of Fort Lauderdale. Perhaps his biggest success has come by creating “A Prom to Remember” in 2009. He spends a good amount of time leading the organization that helps provide the ultimate prom experience to kids battling cancer. In his spare time, Brandon enjoys mountain biking, kite surfing, golfing and snowboarding. He lives in Coral Springs, FL with his wife Christine, daughter Viviana, and two dogs, Maxwell and Lilly.

T.J. Sharpe- Board Member

T.J. Sharpe is a PMP-certified IT Project Manager with over 15 years’ experience as a consultant and project manager. Mr. Sharpe has Financial and Pharmaceutical industry experience as a consultant before relocating from New Jersey to South Florida to perform Analyst and Project Manager roles with local corporations Office Depot, Republic Services, and, most recently, Cross Country Home Services. Mr. Sharpe volunteered with A Prom to Remember before being elected to the inaugural Unforgettable Prom Foundation’s Board in 2011. Married with two young children, Mr. Sharpe also writes the Patient #1 blog on about his experiences battling Stage IV melanoma.
